DO I NEED A BRA? WHAT ABOUT THESE PADS ALREADY IN MY DRESS?
Correct undergarments are essential for your gowns foundation. Here's your options!
Cups
They give great shape, but offer little to no support. If you need or prefer support, you may need to consider a bra. Cups already built into a dress from the manufacturer are not always enough. Many times these cups are for structure of the gown and not enough to support you. Additional cups, additional support from a bra, or bust tape may be needed with these built in cups.
Bra
Strapless, longline, or sticky bras give shape and support. There are many
options available. Our team has done the research and offer, what we think to be, the best sticky bra on the market for purchase at your first appointment! Just ask us more about it at your fitting. We are happy to advise on the best option for your gown.
Bust Tape
Bust Tape can be used alone or in conjunction with cups for added lift.
We are happy to advise on the best application for your gown.
HOW MUCH ARE ALTERATIONS?
This is one of the most common questions we get.
Every dress and every person are different, because of this, there is not a one size fits all for pricing guide for alterations. We are happy to give you a price quote at your consultation or your first fitting to help you budget in the proceeding months.
WHAT DOES PAYMENT LOOK LIKE?
When you come for your first appointment, we require a $50 deposit (or total balance, if less than $50) that will come off the balance of your total alterations. Your balance is due the day you pick up your garment to take home. At any appointments between your first fitting to your last, you are more than welcome to pay it off as you go. Deposits and payments made before your last fitting can be made in cash or check. Payments made at your final fitting must be made in CASH ONLY. No cards or app pay (Venmo, PayPal) accepted at any time.
IS A CONSULT NEEDED FOR MY WEDDING GOWN?
You do not need to do a consult, however, it can be helpful to answer some questions!
At The Threaded Needle, we believe knowledge is power and offer every bride a consult complimentary to answer:
What alterations are needed for your specific dress and needs?
How much will it all cost?
When should I start coming in?
Is there any custom work you are looking for?
*(Adding sleeves, Making a veil, Adding a corset, Etc.)*
We also offer COMPLEMENTARY STORAGE for your wedding gown from the time you have your consult to the date of your wedding to keep it safe from kiddos, critters, and prying eyes of loved ones.
DO YOU STEAM THE GARMENTS?
As a thank you to all our clients for supporting our local small business, we press and steam every item that leaves our door complimentary! All you will have to do the day of, is put it on, look fabulous, and dance the night away!
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY WEDDING GOWN AFTER THE BIG DAY?
The Threaded Needle is proud to offer kits for the Wedding Gown Preservation Company for purchase at any appointment. The Wedding Gown Preservation Company was established in 1913, providing brides with expert cleaning and preservation of their gown, veil/headpiece, garter, purse, and many more items. SHOULD I TIP MY SEAMSTRESS?
Tips are never expected but always appreciated, as they are by any service industry worker.
As a small business, a review on social media or to your family and friends means the world to us more than any monetary gift. We love what we do and want to share our gift with the community!
